ABOUT THE PODCAST - Listen to the Season 1 Trailer | Press Kit .zip file
What is the alternative to the glut of 'fix my life quick' motivational 'fast-food' podcasts flooding the marketplace? To learn how to make a masterpiece of your life the 'old fashioned way'; take the time and do the work with skill and quality craftsmanship.
WHAT IS MAKING A MASTERPIECE OF YOUR LIFE?
Making A Masterpiece of Your Life is a newly released educational self-improvement podcast that takes the listener on a journey across the Four Phases of Life learning life skills in the way of craftsmanship. Drawing upon centuries of knowledge and practical experience by master craftsmen and craftswomen, listeners learn to master life-as-a-craft. Season One is styled as a narrative story in sequential chapters setting the foundation for practicing life-as-a-craft.
Season One includes 11 full episodes that range between 20 - 30 minutes.
Making A Masterpiece of Your Life is currently free to listen to—and it’s ad-free. The show is supported by a grant from the Griffon House Trust.
WILL I LIKE MAKING A MASTERPIECE OF YOUR LIFE?
The tone of Making A Masterpiece of Your Life is imaginative, and introspective, and largely set by the narrator — a master craftsman with a clear mind built on years of study and practice. Themes include personal skills development, family management, beauty, individuality, life purpose and social contribution.
If you're a fan of The Story of Us with Morgan Freeman and the PBS television series Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. or other thoughtful self-development and life skills content, you may enjoy Making A Masterpiece of Your Life.
IS MAKING A MASTERPIECE OF YOUR LIFE FOR KIDS?
This podcast maintains a Clean rating, and was intentionally created for ages 14+ to use as individuals and families. As the podcast spans the complete Four Phases of Life (approx. 80 years) from apprenticeship through journeywork to masterwork and mentorship, it deals with ‘becoming a skilled adult’ progressively over one’s lifetime. There are no child characters in the show.
Parents may wish to listen to the first Episode 101 ‘The Way of Craftsmanship’ to hear the stories and sounds of craftsmanship around the world to get a feel for whether the material is appropriate for their children. They just might enjoy the audio journey around the world!
There is nothing we believe that is disturbing (e.g., language or descriptions of violence, etc.)
Season 1 of Making A Masterpiece of Your Life was released in full on September 16, 2019 allowing the audience to binge and to re-listen to episodes to fully understand the architecture of the podcast premise of ‘life-as-a-craft’. Season 2 will be released either as a full season binge, or in bursts of 2-3 episodes at a time on a bi/tri-monthly basis. However, we are leaving the option open to release with closer frequency depending on demand for the podcast.
